Elderly cats are very prone to renal failure (their kidneys pack up). Untreated this will cause them great pain and distress, before killing them.

You are describing a cat that can't make it to the litter box in time, and that is in obvious distress. That sounds like an animal that has lost control of its bladder and is in great pain. Renal failure could well be the cause.

Owning a pet is expensive. That's the bald truth of it. Live up to your responsibility and get your cat in to see a vet as an emergency, no matter what it costs.

Sometimes the kidney problems can be controlled with medication. You may be lucky and find that your cat "only" has an infection; something that can be treated and cured with antibiotics. You won't know until you take her to be seen by a professional. Alternatively, you may find that you have to get the vet to put her to sleep for her own good -- to put her out of her misery. This may well be the kindest thing you can do for her.

I agree here about the cat and kidney failure. This comes on very fast and if you prolong taking your cat to vet, the cat will die soon.
