While some good-natured editorials all over the United States are lauding the immigration reform plan on behalf of the Bush administration, terming it as an ideological approach and a reflection of the compassionate and conservative side of President Bush, they also never fail to present a stark comparison between the plan of immigration reform and the plan of waging war in Iraq, trying their utmost to accentuate the clarity of the contrast between these two plans. Nevertheless as strange as it may sound to the ears of conventional political followers, the two plans do have some things in common, such as the fact that both of the ideas were part of Bush's agenda when he first joined office (which was way before the September 11 attacks).
Secondly both of the plans have an 'apparently' idealistic air to them as the war in Iraq was 'sincerely' aimed to ameliorate the situation of the Iraqis while the immigration reform was also formulated on the basis of pure goodwill and bringing a revolutionary change in the lives of immigrants. Lastly both of these plans had a high level of dependence on the accomplishments of some challenging administrative feats.
