When Do You Use The Word Accept And Except?

    Accept is used when you receive something from something, like "I accept your offer to take me out to dinner."

    Except is used to indicate that one or more things is excluded from the point of discussion, like " Everything is good except for the weather."

      Uh, I guess the best way to explain it would be to use them both in a sentence. Accept: "Richard I ACCEPT your apology, and I also ACCEPT your late science paper. As opposed to Except: "Everyone can leave EXCEPT Barbie because everyone did Thier classwork EXCEPT her. Hope this helped, Good luck. (:
