Help! Water Damage & Nobody Will Tell Me What To Do! Shouldn't Someone Come Out To Assess The Damage?

My husband, my daughter & myself were at the beach today when we got a call from our downstairs neighbor telling us we had to get home right away that one of the sprinkler heads in our condo broke & his condo was getting flooded. We got home no one was here. The fire dept came & went. The onsite maintance guy came & went. We called our property management co. But were told no one would help us until tuesday! It happened in my daughters room! All her things, clothes, furniture, toys, floor ruined! Shouldn't someone come out to assess the damage?

I would start with the insurance company. If you own your condo, which is typical, call the company that holds your homeowner policy. If you rent, hopefully you have renter's insurance (few do, but it's critical and cheap). There are also water-removal services listed in the phone book--ServPro is one I've seen recommended.

I'm so sorry for your experience and stress!
