Hitler Wasn't A Vegetarian, Was He?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Hitler wasn't a vegetarian. It is believed that although he did go on long vegetarian binges where he would abstain from meat and the like, he wasn't a strict vegetarian for the greater part of his life. He also fancied sausages, ham as well as caviar. A book written by a popular cook also suggests that his favourite meal was cooked pigeon.

Documents made on the life of the Fuehrer state that he was deliberately put on a vegetarian diet by his medics from 1931 onwards. This is because he suffered from a series of stomach ailments that caused him spasms and acute abdominal pain. Many also say that he abstained from meat for fear that he would develop cancer, a disease to which he lost his mother when he was just 18 years old. There are many who stand in vehement opposition of the above facts stating that he largely chose to live on a diet of vegetables and fruits.
