    Romanized is the past tense of the verb Roman. When someone is Romanized, he is converted in Roman Catholic. He is made to follow the Roman Catholic laws. Romanize also means 'to make something Roman in character'. For example: they romanized the clock tower. It means that they adopted Roman style for their construction.

    If a language is romanized, it is written in the Latin alphabet. This is especially, done when the language is written in Chinese or Japanese. For example: Now-a-days the shops have romanized names. All the above meanings of the verb Romanize makes use of an object (grammar). Romanize could also mean 'to follow Roman practices' or 'to become a Roman and adhering to Roman Catholic practices'.
