My cat has lost a lot of weight in 2 weeks time? What could this be from?

My cat has lost a lot of weight in the past 2 weeks he is very weak and unsure when he walks. He is 9 and is an indoor cat. I cannot afford the vet,can you help? He is bony by the neck and hind legs. Doesn't purr anymore, but is eating and drinking. His nose is warm and dry (not cool and wet) any ideas on what it could be?

I think the best advice I would give you is call your cats vet asap this sounds very serious.
