How Do You Cook Pork Shoulder?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

To cook a barbequed pork shoulder, you need a pork shoulder roast (which weighs between approximately three-and-a-half pounds and four pounds), catsup, firmly packed brown sugar, salt, pepper, chilli powder, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and prepared mustard.

The pork shoulder roast is covered with water which has been lightly salted in a large Dutch oven. It is covered and cook over medium heat for a duration of between two and two-and-a-half hours or until it is tender. It is then drained, sliced thin and placed in a shallow two-quart baking dish. The remaining ingredients are combined and are stirred well.

The sauce is spooned over the sliced pork shoulder roast, and the slices are turned to coat. It is baked at a temperature of about 300 degrees Fahrenheit for a duration of about 45 minutes. It is served on buns. Barbequed pork shoulder is a dish that serves six people.
