What Is Virtual Team?

It is group of the team members which are connected through internet with each other and work on different projects. They are not physically present at the same place. The purpose of this virtual linkage is to communicate with each other, share knowledge from each other and carry their operations virtually. There can be different number of people who may be working through the virtual platforms. For example a virtual team can discuss the project overview by using the virtual system. The advantage of the virtual team is that the person with the long distance can communicate with each other so that they can share ideas with each other. However they are scattered to the different geographical location.

The concept of the virtual teams evolved because many companies are doing business internationally. So they need some platform in order to share the resources and ideas without gathering in the common place. The virtual teams belong from different cultures. So the member from the different location contributes their resources in order to bring the final product in the market. However the mostly use of the virtual team is in the project management.
