The holiday season in Cleethorpes begins in April and continues till October. There are various festivals and concerts for the visitors and locals alike, staged throughout this period.
Following is the list of events that took place this year: Cleethorpes Dance Festival, Lions Beer Festival, Cleethorpes Folk Festival (a weekend celebration), Arts Forum Festival 2006, Cleethorpes Beachcomber Jazz Weekend 2006, Dance Festival, Memorial Hall, Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes.
Cleethorpes was a fishing village in the 19th century, but the railway between the towns of Yorkshire and the coast helped it grew rapidly. For many years, it has been a popular holiday resort.
