A mass for someone who has just passed away is referred to as funeral mass. Funeral mass is generally not a whole considered mass. This mass starts the usual way but one does not see Gloria hymn taking place during the service. During the homily the priest will not try to give nay kind of teachings of God but in fact the priest will talk about the dead person and also a little about his family. During a funeral service they are also a special blessing of the dead. Where the priest prays over the soul of the dead and asks everyone to pray together so that his/ her soul may rest in peace. However, during the mass only special funeral hymns are sang, not the ones that take place for the usual service. After the funeral mass, follows with the burial service.
