Where Does Space End?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

This is a difficult question to answer, since no one can say for sure whether space is finite (with an ending point) or infinite, where it carries on forever and has no start or finish.
Some scientists and astronomers believe that space is actually an enclosed area.  This poses interesting questions.  If space has an ending, what is outside space?  Could we travel outside space and how is the area outside space maintained?
However, these questions are basically academic. Although we have travelled within our solar system, the Milky Way is beyond our reach and after that there are literally billions of other galaxies which we would then have to cross to find where space would actually end and the distance is just too great.  A human lifetime could be spent in space trying to ascertain the ending point and death would certainly occur before the end point (if it exists) were reached.

Space ends where it starts and that's the ''Big Bang''. Just think of the farthest galaxy known, and the farthest star known, I'm pretty sure if your where that is you'll end up some where near where it starts lol.

We talk about where outer space ends because human beings are confined to time and space. We assume you will travel to that end in a given time, then we ask ourselves what is beyond that end. If you remove time from our world then it means you will literally be everywhere instantly because you don't need time to reach any place. In that case the question "where does space end will not make sense" because you will be everywhere instantly. So end of space is just an illusion because of our nature and state, such things do not exist in the spirit world...strange!!!
