I've Recently Thought About Using Contact Lenses As I Really Hate The Look Of Glasses On Me. However, I'm Scared That I Will Poke Myself In The Eye With The Contact Lenses And I Just Don't Imagine Them To Be Comfortable. Is There A Correct Way To Put Them In?

Contact lenses have become extremely popular with people worldwide due to their convenience. They are great for people who are self conscious wearing glasses and they aren't noticeable at all. However, whilst they are somewhat easy to apply, many people do worry about poking themselves in the eye at first.

They are not uncomfortable once they are in; it just takes a while to get used to them. Most People find that it is easier to put the lens in whilst they are looking away to the side. That way you are not seeing the lens come towards you which could force you to blink. Some people apply the lens by putting it on the tip of their pointer finger, whilst others rest the lens on the side of their finger so that it doesn't feel like they are poking themselves directly in the eye.

If you do have any concerns or worries you could always talk to your optician and they are usually happy to show you how to use them without hurting yourself.

Don't worry about poking yourself or any worries about taking them in or out. Your eye doctor will show you how to put them in and take them out correctly and how to take care of them. Personally, I found the way my doctor showed me how to put my contact in was a little complicated, and my mother owned contacts before, so she showed me how her doctor told her how to put them in. Advice from other contact wearers is also helpful.
