    Where Is A Good Place To Live In New York With Young Children? My Wife And I, With 2 Toddlers Are Relocating From Sydney.

    Do you mean New York the city or New York the state?

    Within the city itself, Manhattan's Upper West Side is sometimes described as "Family Friendly". Keep in mind this is by New York City standards, although if you're used to Sydney those might be your standards, too (allowing for the difference in climate). And anywhere in Manhattan is very expensive to live in.

    If you do mean NYC, your best bet is to get onto one of the community chat boards where New Yorkers themselves are members and take advice there from the locals.

    If you're thinking of anywhere in NY state, then 'upstate' is often rated as family friendly. Think Albany, Syracuse, Niagara Falls. Learn more.

    Personally I also like Long Island, and it's striking distance to NYC. Because you get beaches and clean air.
