Windows is an operating system, which is loaded automatically into the computer's memory( RAM) from the hard disks, where it has been saved, as you switch on the computer. This process of loading the operating system is called booting the system.
Before you turn on the computer , it is important to become familiar with the accepted sequence for turning most computers on and off. The following sequence provides precautionary measure against those problems, which may arise due to the mishandling the system.
1) Turn on the monitor
2) Turn on the printer( if required)
3) Turn on any other peripheral ( if required)
4) Turn on the system
5) Remove the disk from disk drives as you finish working with it
6) Turn off the computer
7) Turn off the printer
8) Turn off the monitor
Now, proceed as follows.
1) Turn on the power switches to the monitor and the computer. After a few seconds, the initial windows desktop will appear.
2) A well come dialog box appears with usability tips. Each time you load windows, unless the feature has been disabled. These tips remind you the useful features that may be under utilizing. You can disable this feature by deselecting the checkbox in the lower left corner of the dialog box. If the welcome box appears on the screen , better leave the check box selector.
3) Click close button in the top right hand corner on the window title bar.
