The term 'April Fools Day' is a day on which people do something to make somebody a fool and in the process they create a lot of fun. The date is being observed on the first of the month of April and so is the name April fools.
On this day even media people play jokes with their readers and viewers and you can find several false stories in the media that are related to some celebrity and later found to be false.
When it comes to the origin of the phenomenon you can hear several theories that are being put forth by various people. It is believed that the custom of celebrating the April fools day has come to England from France where there are several theories that dates back the custom to 1508 AD to 1539 AD.
