What Does A Diseased Gallbladder Look Like?

What causes it? I have just had one removed and they said it was diseased.

I forgot what causes it part. That would depend on why you had it removed. Stones? Too much fat collected in the gall bladder. Was your biliary duct blocked? Perhaps by a tumor? Sometimes too much cholesterol will cause gallbladder disease.I have seen a few deseased gall bladders. They are different colors and larger than your thumb. Some are whitish/greenish. others are whitish/purplish.

It can be genetic and run in families. In today's world the high fat diet we are consuming is a big factor. The gall bladder deals with the breakdown and digestion of fats. Yo-Yo dieting is the worse thing and often causes gall stones to form. The symptoms are like increasing heartburn and indigestion. Then there is pain mostly located on your upper right side. When the pain gets so severe that you can't stand it then you are going to have to have the gall bladder removed. It is better to seek medical attention before it gets this bad. When you are not in an acute attack the surgery is easier, less painful and recovery is quick. However if you let it go too far the surgery is more involved and much more serious and prone to even fatal complications.
