    C.S Lewis was christened as Clive Staples Lewis. He was born in 1898. He was an Irish author and scholar. He was an Oxford and Cambridge professor. He taught at Magdalen College at Oxford from 1925-1954 and at Magdalene College at Cambridge until 1963. He was an atheist from boyhood but became a believer and a convert at the age of 33. After that he spent a considerable time of his life writing about faith. He is one of the most famous converts to Christianity in the 20th century. He is the author of The Chronicles of Narnia which consisted of seven series starting with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and ending with The Last Battle.

    The first book was published in 1950 and the last one in 1956. He along with his close friend J.R.R.Tolkien was a member of a literary group in Oxford known as The Inklings. His work was translated into 30 languages and continues to sell over a million copies per year. His books have been made into films.
