How do you know that his blood serum testosterone is too high? Did a doctor say so? Because it's not something you can self-diagnose. And if a doctor truly thought it was too high -- a very rare condition -- then the doc would suggest some meds to lower it.

Trying to lower perceived excess testosterone levels can bring disadvantages. Men with low testosterone levels run the risk of infertility, thinning hair, breast development, erectile dysfunction, depression, reduced muscle mass and reduced bone density -- to name but a few health problems.

Assuming that you have a proper doctor's diagnosis, but you can't afford the medication. The following things seem to reduce testosterone levels in otherwise healthy men (from real research):

Opiate drugs (like morphine, heroin, and their OTC relatives, in some legal pain killing drugs)
    Smoking marijuana
    Trauma to the testicles
    Sleep Deprivation
High liquorice intake (ideally the root, not just the candy!)
    High alcohol intake
    Marriage
    Spending time with one's family
Lots of time spent looking after babies
    Obesity
    High cholesterol intake in diet
Very low fat diets (makes no sense with previous finding, but never mind)

    Herbs:
    Saw Palmetto
Vitex agnus-castus, V. negundo (Verbenaceae)- Chasteberry
    PC-SPEC (Chinese herb formulation)
