When Will The 20-Twenty Cricket World Cup Start?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The 20-Twenty Cricket World will start in September and would take place in South Africa where the former cricket world cup was played in the year 2003.  The 20-Twenty format was recently introduced in the world of cricket.  It is just like a one-day international match except that the duration is small as in sync with the name of the format, each team plays an innings stretched over just 20 overs in comparison to the 50 overs that are played in one-day international matches.

As the CAS (Cricket South Africa) has organized the tournament, the twelve eligible cricket teams would be divided in groups of four, each of the groups containing three cricket teams.  The venues that the CAS (Cricket South Africa) has decided for the 20-Twenty Cricket World Cup would each play host to about nine 20-Twenty matches.  The opening match of the 20-Twenty World Cup would be played between West Indies and hosts South Africa.
