Red blood cells contain an antigen known as Rh factor. In ABO blood group system blood group is named positive or negative on basis of its presence or absence.This factor is known Rh factor after Rhesus monkey.Landsteiner and Wiener discovered these antigens in 1940 for the first time in the blood of Rhesus
