Is The York Chocolate Cat An English Or American Breed?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The York Chocolate Cat is a relatively new (1983) American breed from New York City and is brown in color and so it gets its name. It is a show cat, with a long, fluffy coat that is either chocolate lavender or white. It was created through color-selecting. It is still not recognized by many breeders and organizations. They have Rounded skull along with slightly domed foreheads. Their eyes are fairly large and slightly oval generally gold or green. They are Fine-boned, not very heavy and have sinewy slender muscles. They have long thin and fluffy tails. Kittens are generally much lighter as compared to the adults. They love to be held and cuddled. They are active, agile playful, lively curious and intelligent animals. They are perfect for family life as they make energetic and loving friends.
