Identify whether it is caused by a physical obstruction or a mechanical/parts failure. The only way to do this is to dismantle the door surround and inspect. If you're not technically competent – ask a vehicle technician. Motors fail, or commonly, small pieces of plastic break, rendering the mechanism useless. Usually quite easy to find replacement second hand parts.
