To develop your strategy, decide upon your long term goal. Whether it is to qualify for a global event or to make money; this needs to be clear. Then consider your game; look at recent games and consider whether they reflect your long term goal or were just a means to an end at that moment in time.

The tactical element often takes over and so the long term goal is forgotten and overlooked. A good strategy should make all individual decisions easier; it should inform and drive your game and so always needs to be kept in mind.
