My Mum Remarried And I Don't Get On With My Step-Dad, What Can I Do?

This is always tricky, especially if there are other children involved, it can often feel like you are no longer as special as you were before or that you are a lesser part of the family. Recognise this as simple jealousy but that there might be a little neglect there too.

Your Mum is obviously happy with her new husband, so what you should do is simple, be happy for her! Try to find out what your step-Dad does for fun and offer to do it with him.  (within reason).

Perhaps you could do a few more chores around the house to show that you are still committed to the family.  You could also speak to your Mum and say that you would like to get on better with her new husband and does she have any suggestions, she would be delighted that you are making such an effort!
