Can I Train My Body To Do The Splits?
I can't do it now and was never able to do it. I heard that it was genetics. But just a few days ago, my friend claimed that she just did yoga for a few weeks and she was able to do the splits. Something about yoga and flexibility......

Yoga definitely has away of helping with flexibility and practice,practice I think you will come out fine nothing is done instantly you will have to practice some people are more flexible than others,do yoga and keep trying good luck....

You can train your body to do the splits just like every body else. It takes time and dedication, like anything else.
Make sure to warm-up before you start; warm muscles will stretch better and it will also help prevent muscles strain.
There are 2 kinds of basic splits: One where you are facing your toes and another where your feet are pointed out to the sides- straddle.
Slowly lower yourself into position, and hold it for about 30 seconds then stand up and shake it out. Repeat this step a few times- be careful not to over do it or you may hurt yourself.
You will most likely be sore the next day, if you are doing it right.
