The comment about Ethiopians being allowed to drive at 14 is not correct - The legal driving age is 18 not 14 - it has never been 14 !!!!

Whoever wrote that up has made and please remove it ASAP as it is misleading lots of people who think that everything on the internet is true.

I think they should be between 15 and 18 because all of the countries that I know allow these ages to drive.

The legal driving age is the age when a person can obtain a licence to operate a motor vehicle. The minimum driving age varies between different countries but is generally between 14-18 years. The general age in most of the European countries is 18. In Australia, the driving age differs between 16.5 in South Australia and 18 in Victoria. New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia have a driving age of 17. In the United Sates the driving age varies from state to state between 14.3 and 17. In Austria, Indonesia, Iceland, Ireland, Malaysia, Philippines and United Kingdom the legal driving age is 17. In Canada and Isle of Man you need to be 16 to obtain a licence to drive. In New Zealand and Vanuatu you can drive at 15. An in Ethiopia you are allowed to drive a motor vehicle at the age of 14.
