What Football Teams Are There In Dundee?

Dundee has two professional football teams Dundee and Dundee United. This is quite unusual for a small city such as Dundee. These teams are fierce opponents of one another and play matches against each other. Dundee, Glasgow, and London are the only three cities  wherefrom several European Cup semi-finalists have emerged.   

Dundee Football Club had come into life in 1893. It is a professional football team based in the city of Dundee, Scotland. Two city teams, in those times, called Our Boys and East End joined and put their hands together to form the club. The club played their first Scottish league match on 12 August 1893. Some noteworthy achievements of the club was the winning of league championship in 1962 under the guidance of manager Bob Shankly and also reaching the semi-finals of  European Cup. In May 2005, Dundee Football Club ceased to be a part of the Scottish Premier League as they got the last position. The team is currently managed by Alex Rae. He also plays for the club.
