Does We Find Life Only On EARTH In The Entire Universe?

Had a debate with my friend regarding this and no conclusion till now...

Thus far, we have found life only on the Earth.  Instruments have been sent to some planets in our solar system but have not yet found life or any evidence that life existed on any of them in the past.
Given the vastness of the Universe and the enormous number of planets out beyond the solar system, it would seem likely that not only is there life on some planet but that there are intelligent beings somewhere "out there".  We won't know this for certain until we find them or they find us.  Don't expect this to happen in your lifetime.

There are more Sun's in the Universe than there are grain's of sand on Earth. Imagine a handful of sand, and how many million grain's there are , just in your hand. Now look at the whole beach and think of all the beaches around the world, plus the sand under water. How many can that possibly be? Now, around all these Sun's there are planet's. How many planet's could that add up to? To think that life is only on planet Earth is not just closed minded it makes one think to when people believed the Earth was flat and if you disagreed you were killed or jailed. Check out a book called COSMOS by the late Carl Sagan, IT will really open your eye's to the real Universe.

God can create life anywhere. That being said - I think Earth is special since it's self maintaining.  In addition -for us to exist, all the necessary elements had to be here =prepared ahead of our arrival.  Oddly as humans we are probably the least capable in terms of survival. A guinea pig can begin to eat and drink from birth but as humans we're in trouble.  We can perhaps find some elements that are needed for life in other parts of the universe, but I doubt they will someday all join forces to produce living beings....let alone some with five senses and depth perception.  Quite improbable.

My goodness! only a ONE rating? the scientist who led the Human Genome project who also earned the respect of his science colleagues would agree on this. Remember Steven Hawkings last statement in His History of Time series and you'll find another similar opinion.
