Good question. I suppose the answer is the same as it is with other internet sites; you don't know who you're talking to. Mostly, though, I think you'll find the Blurters are a nice lot of people; I've been here some time and I'm often amazed by the trouble some people will go to to help each other. It also helps that there is quite a strict policy on abusive questions/ answers - if someone is trying to cause trouble or being silly, we're encouraged to report them, and they usually get taken off.

One other thing - even though, like I said, most people do their best, what you can't guarantee is that answers are correct. Someone with good ratings usually has a reputation for accurate answers, but you can't be 100% sure. Best try asking a few more questions and see what you think!
