Unofficial Config Guide for PT2 by Regalis

Feel free to send me a PM if you have any suggestions about this Guide

1. Before you start
The most important part to consider is that you'll be changing setting which might, if done wrong, screw up your game badly. Therefor you'll need to make backups before starting and you'll need to follow this guide closely. Anything not stated in this guide could be a potential risk to your game or system. If done correctly though you'll see that there are a lot of options which can be tweaked to give you an overall better gaming experience.
2. PT2Option.cfg
Location: C:Program FilesKeyToPlayPristonTale2BinPT2Option.cfg
Contains: General config options
The PT2Option.cfg contains the tweaks most players would like to have. It has some useful tweaks including the ability to show your FPS, stop auto-attack after you use a skill and some tweaks regarding your display. Like stated before don't forget to make a backup of PT2Option.cfg before you're going to change something in the config.
[Display]
Resolution=(XxY) is used for manually changing the resolution ingame. This shouldn't give too much problems.
Windowed=(False, True) enables the user to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode. In windowed mode you don't need to use Alt+Tab to switch between different programs. Side effect is that if you use a resolution greater then the one your computer uses you might notice that the game won't fit on your screen. True enables Windowed Mode while False enables Fullscreen Mode.
UseVSync=(False,True) is used to enable VSync. I won't go into much detail as to what VSync is. You can read it here if you want. VSync can cause some lag when enabled and most gamers don't use it while playing a game. If you have some lag issues you might want to turn it down. True enables it, False disables it.
PlayerShadow=(0,1) and CreatureShadow=(0,1) are used for giving shadows to players and creatures. It isn't very FPS friendly so I suggest only enabling it when you have a good PC otherwise you might notice some drops in FPS. 1 enables it, 0 disables it.
ShowFPS=(True,False) adds a small counter to the game which displays your FPS. It's very handy if you want to keep an eye out for your FPS. True to enable it, False to disable it.
[Audio]
Can be skipped. All of these options can be set ingame so it's quite useless to change it.
[Game]
Show<option>=(True, False) can be used to hide text from the game which doesnt include the text in the chat window. The most appealing options might be ShowPlayerName= and ShowMyName= to hide the name of the players or your own. I don't think ShowMyName= hides your name for everyone but instead hides your name for you. Could be interesting to try.
[Chat]
Show<option>=(True, False) is about the same as the one posted above. The only difference is that this hides the text in your chat window. If you find your chat window flooded by useless notices like how much damage you recieve or how much damage you get then you might want to turn it off. This doesn't include the text balloons with the damage that pops up when you attack someone. Those are toggled in the [Game] section. True to enable it, False to disable.
[Control]
UseAttackAfterSkill=(True, False) to disable the auto-attack after using an attack skill. If you use an attack skill while this is on you'll start to automaticly attack after your skill is finished. If you disable this however you won't attack after your skill is finished. For someone who only uses skills it might be a good idea to turn it off since you can spam those skills faster that way. True to enable it, False to disable it.
3. User.cfg
Location: C:Program FilesKeyToPlayPristonTale2BinUser.cfg
Contains: User config options
The first section of the User.cfg is dedicated to binds. Which basicly means that every button on your keyboard is bindable to an action. An example might be binding the arrows keys to the move commands so you can use the arrows keys to move your character instead of the WASD keys (which needs some more work to figure out).
I'll try to get a list of most of the commands but it will take a while. At the moment we are still in CB and I haven't explored everything the configs have to offer (which is why this Guide is still under construction).
[Engine.Controller], [Engine.PlayerController], [Engine.Pawn], [Engine.Vehicle] and [Engine.Player] can all be skipped. They don't offer much in terms of tweaking and I can't say if changing those will be safe.
[Engine.HUD]
;HudMode=(0, 1) is unknown to me. Although the command suggests that it enables different modes for the HUD. If anyone wants to test it out I would be more then grateful. Most likely 1 to enable it and 0 to disable it. It could also be that there are more modes so if you're going to try it out give ;HudMode=2 also a chance. Maybe it will do some cool stuff.
;Crosshair=(0, 1) to enable a crosshair. As most of you know a crosshair is mostly used in shooters as a way to know where you're aiming. You can enable it trough this command. Again 1 to enable it, 0 to disable it.
BHideHUD=(True, False) is to hide the HUD (Head-up display) ingame. You can read what a HUD is here if you don't know it. True shows the HUD and False hides it.
HudScale=(Number, Number) can be used to increase/decrease the size of the HUD. 1,0 is the normal value. 1,5 increases the size of the HUD by half and 0,5 decreases it by half.
BShow<option>=(True, False) enables you to toggle a couple of HUD options like your portrait or your healthbar. All of them use True for enabling it and False to disable it.
CrosshairScale=(n=Number, Number) only works when you have enabled the crosshair. You can set the scaling of the crosshair with this command. Use it in the same way as you used the HudScale. 1,0 is the default value.
CrosshairOpacity=(Number, Number) can be used to see through the crosshair. The lower the value, the easier it is to see through it. 1,0 is the default value. Don't put this higher then 1,0 otherwise the game might crash. Only decrease the value.
CrosshairStyle=(0, 1, 2 etc.) is used to toggle between different crosshair styles. I don't know how many crosshair styles there are but it uses a number to represent a style. Again if someone is willing to try it out I'm more then grateful. Starts at value 0.
- To be continued -
[Screenshots]
ShotMask=(<name>%c) allows you to change the name of the screenshots when they're made. Default is Shot%C. Only change the name before the %C since the %C is used to give a number to each screenshot.
ShotDir=(..Screenshots) is the command to change where the screenshots get stored. Default is ..Screenshots with .. Meaning the default PT2 directory. You can change it to any directory you like.
