The Googleplex is the headquarters of the search engine, Google.
The full address in case you wish to Google Earth it, is: 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California, near San Jose.
It was not custom built for Google somewhat surprisingly. The complex was originally home to the computer company Silicon Graphics (SGI). However, due to the phenomenal growth of Google, their accommodation needs expanded rapidly and the company had to lease other nearby buildings to house their growing payroll.
Today, then, the Googleplex extends beyond the original building to encompass all their office accommodation on the site. However, it could be argued that the term Googleplex also includes the search engine's European base in Dublin and its 25 data centres dotted around the world.
Mountain View, according to Google, is a fun place to work with giant rubber balls, chill out rooms and impromptu hockey matches out in the car park.
Of course, you may mean Googolplex, the name given to the large number I0 to the power of 10 with a hundred zeros after it. From this unimaginably large number, we get the search engine's name and that of its HQ.

The Googleplex is the headquarters for Google, Inc, . Its name is a combination of the words Google and Complex, and is a reference to googolplex.
It is a four core building, totaling up to 506,317 ft², and it was initially used by SGI and then later on leased by Google in the beginning of 2003. Then 3 years later, in 2006, Google purchased the property from Silicon Graphics worth $319 million. In the late 2006, it was announced by the company that they plan to install a series of solar panels.
It is further said that this could be the largest installation in the country. Googleplex's 30% of electricity's' requirements will be fulfilled while the remaining will be purchased. Googleplex is also the abbreviated name of a very powerful computer in a novel written by Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This is a very huge organization and it is a name given to 10 to the power of 10 followed by a hundred zeros. With this very large number, you get the name of the machine and that is HQ.
