What Does Statutory Rape Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A statutory rape is different from a rape itself. A statutory rape means having sexual relationship with a person who is neither a child nor has reached the statutory age. In the case of a statutory rape, it does not matter if whether or not the female has consented to the sexual action. There is a consent age which varies from state to state. The consent age is also known as the legal age to have sexual intercourse. It is mainly only applicable in case of females. A female above the age of 14 is not considered a child but has still not reached the legal consent age. The legal consent age in most states is 17 or 18. The state law has strict laws against statutory rape but in most cases it is not reported.

"it is mainly only aplicable to females"-- Load of lies. Laws are laws and do not sexually discriminate. This atttitude that many ignorant people have about rape being something that only happens to women is sickening. Sexual Discrination is against the law.

Do you have any limit to how long you it take for you to come forward that you were raped? [Especially in Louisiana where the consent age is 17]
