I Have A Betta (siamese Fighting Fish) In A Standard Fish Bowl Can I Put Any Other Fish With It?

Answer Question

Don't mix a male betta with other brightly coloured fish, other fish with large flowing fins and tails or with fish that are known fin-nippers (barbs etc.)

Don't place more than one male betta in a tank. They will fight to the death. (if you must have more than one, buy a tank divider)

people have mixed experiences with bettas, but its best to stick by these rules.

My betta has a few zebra danios which he gets along fine with, they dont bother him much and he's become more active since i placed them with him.
Other suitable fish would be mollies (dull coloured), cloud minnows, other species of danio, duller species of tetras (no neons) and nothing bigger than he is.
Some people find danios dull and boring, personally i find them entertaining as they play their games of tag, swimming round the bowl and occasionally leaping out of the water

NEVER put a betta with angelfish. Angelfish may seem sweet and slow, but being cichlids they will fin-nip and the betta wont be happy with them around either.
