What Is Looking-on Play?

Around the age of three years children participle in looking on play, they watch carefully what other children do and may try to copy them children at this stage may stand on the edge of older children’s games. They might not have the confidence to join in but observing other children can give a child the confidence they need to try and do the same activity for themselves.
