Ingrown nails are most commonly associated with toenail. This occur when nail grows in to the skin. There are many conditions which can cause ingrown nails. These are shoes which crowd toenail, thickening of toenail, unusually curved toenail, injury to toenail, and too short cutting of toenail.Your friends are misguiding you. Wearing fake nails can not cause ingrown nails. But fake nails can cause discoloration of the nails. Adhesive used in fake nails can damage nail bed.
