Why Is Oxygen Used For Diving?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

People need oxygen to survive, otherwise, they would suffocate. If you do deep sea diving, you must be able to breath because unlike fish with gills who can filter oxygen from water, we cannot and will drown. Oxygen is needed is you spend a lot of time under water. You can only hold your breath for about 2 min. So it is important to have some type of breating aparatus.  Scuba means self contained underwater breathing aparatus
