How To Change Oil On 4.0 Liter Ford Explorer?

    Locate the oil pan under your vehicle.  
    When you have located it you will notice there will be a drain plug that you can remove.  (Be sure to have an oil pan ready to catch the oil when you remove the drain plug, the oil pan or bucket should be able to hold appox. 5 liters.)
    Remove the drain plug and drain out all the old engine old.  
    When complete replace the drain plug and tighten.  
    Then locate the oil filter just above to the side of the oil pan.  
    Remove (unscrew) and replace the oil filter with a new one.  
    Fill engine with new oil, check with dip stick, when good start engine to circulate new oil through filter.
    Turn off engine check oil level again after and add oil if needed
