The material amount in an object is called it's mass. It remains the same no matter where you take it. The weight of an object changes because of atmospheric pressure and gravity on it. I want to give an example here to explain the concept.
Suppose you have a pen and its mass is .1 Kg. Now if we take this pen on the moon. The mass of the object will always remain the same no matter how much force is acting on it. But it's weight will vary on the moon because the gravitational force is changed now.
