For the people who suffer from Candida, there is no controversy about whether it exists. It does exist and if severe enough it can ruin your life to the point where your whole health can deteriorate.

Basically, Candida Yeast is the overgrowth of "bad" bacteria in your body (which can be due to a number of factors). While we all have good and bad bacteria, diet and poor nutrition can cause an imbalance that allows the bad bacteria to take over your body and cause symptoms that range from brain fog, sugar cravings, unexplained weight gain, skin or oral yeast infection, vaginal infections, mood swings, behavioural issues, and even in severe cases, organ shut-down.

Candida Albicans is one of the thousands of different types of bacteria that live naturally in and on our bodies. Kept in check by other types of "good" bacteria and the body's own immune system, it usually causes no problems.

Some people believe that their bodies have become overrun with Candida Albicans (and related harmful bacteria), producing a condition called both Candida and Candidiasis. The main idea is that Candida, which mostly lives in the intestinal tract, has managed in these unfortunate individuals to cross into the blood stream, and is running havoc in the rest of the body.

It is controversial whether candiadiasis really exists. Sufferers frequently believe that their problems followed over-use of antiobiotics; some health profressionals claim it simply couldn't happen that way. There is no test accepted by conventional medicine for verifying if someone has Candida.

Most common symptoms are recurring bouts of vaginal thrush, food allergies, foggy headedness, and migraines. Treatment often revolves around repairing the leaky gut, which basically means cutting out foods that promote either allergies (especially wheat and milk) and Candida growth (starches and anything sweet).

Breastfeeding mothers who have a baby with thrush -- oral yeast infection -- may get a yeast infection on their breasts or nipples, causing pain while feeding.
Children get thrush because the Candida albicans yeast is ubiquitous or everywhere on objects still, you should carefully clean any objects that go into your child's mouth.
If your baby gets repeated thrush, be sure that she isn't overusing a pacifier or bottle, which may be causing the insides of her mouth to be overly wet and crack, which provides the perfect environment for yeast to grow. Get rid of old, infected bottle nipples and pacifiers once the thrush clears up.
Eating lots of sugar and white flour (in bread, cakes, cookies and pasta) can upset the balance between good bacteria and Candida yeast in children.
The yeast feeds and grows on the refined carbohydrates, while the sugar suppresses the growth of healthful bacteria. Children who have high-sugar diets are more prone to thrush.
If whatever caused the thrush can be brought under control, the infection is likely to go away after a few days of treatment with a fungicide.
