Dog Has A Blockage,What To Do?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

You have not pointed out where your dog has blockage? It can be in arteries, veins, urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract etc. Usually, dogs get blockage in the urinary and gastrointestinal tracts.

Urinary tract blockage can be due to stones in the bladder or ureters or cancer of bladder. Treatment of stones is by use of special diets, medicines and surgery.

Gastrointestinal obstruction can be due ingestion of bones, objects, gastrointestinal tumors, pyloric stenosis, gastroenteritis, hernias, mesenteric torsions etc. Treatment depends upon underlying cause and surgery is usually performed.

If your dog is having gastrointestinal or urinary tract obstruction then take him to vet for complete medical checkup and treatment.
