Who Was The First President To Be Photographed?
I just want to know who was the first president to be photographed ever.
Answers
John Tyler, president 1841-1845.

And I didn't even know that we had a president called Tyler -- you learn something new every day.
Not only was Tyler the first president to be photographed, he was also the first to get married while in office.
He was also the first president to reach the office because of the death of the incumbent (Tyler was elected only as vice-president when the elected president died after only a month in office). Nobody was too sure how a vice-president should take over; Tyler set the precedent, insisting that he should be known as President and not "vice-President" or "acting President" for the remainder of his elected term.
Tyler was an unpopular president, who lacked the support of a political party. He had eight children who lived in the White House with him from his first wife, seven more children by his second wife.
Charles Dickens visited and described the Tyler White House in 1842.
