 Make sure the problem is not user error. It is common for a user to express dissatisfaction of a problem they think has to do with the network but turns out to be a common configuration setting on their workstation.

 Check simple physical connection. Cables come unhooked all the time. Before delving too deep into troubleshooting, check their connection to the network. Most network cards have a connect light that shows whether they are talking to a hub or MAU. These can save you hours of problem.

 Start up the computer again. It is surprising how many things are fixed by a simple reboot. It is always worth a shot.If these simple steps do not solve the problem, then more serious actions may need to be taken. Also, check to see if more than one computer is affected. I have a 99 Lincoln Continental with transmission problems.  I am told by a Lincoln shop that the torque
converter will not lock out.  The car has a hesitation and acts like it  wants to shift gears repeatedly after about 30 MPH and up to 70 MPH.  Runs perfect through 1st 2nd and about 3rd gear is when the in out occurs.
No check engine lights.  Will a new torque converter correct the problem?   Have about 97000 miles showing.
