It varies, but usually the weigh of the empty tank or "Tare Weight" (TW) should stamped, along with other numbers on the collar of the tank. Mine, for example, is stamped "TW16.8" so that would be the weight of the tank when empty. I just weighed mine and at 22.4 lbs I should have about 4 lbs of gas left. Now if someone knows how much time of cooking 4 Gals would give me, I would appreciate it.
