    Victoria basically is small state situated towards the south-eastern section of Australia. It said to be one of the smallest mainland states in this region, but is extremely populated and developed. The finding of gold in the year 1851 changed Victoria into one of the primary industrial and commercial centers.

    Victoria has a parliamentary type of administration system based on the Westminster System. The Parliament of Victoria comprises of lower house Legislative Assembly, the upper house Legislative Council and the Queen of Australia.

    According to the census conducted in the year 2006 the total population of Victoria was said to be 5,110,500, having an average population density of 22.47 per square kilometer. The census report of 2006, also stated the total area of this region was 237,629 square kilometers out of which 10,213 square kilometers was covered by water.
