Where Do You Go For A Romantic Vacation In Michigan?

I am origionally from Lansing, there really isn't much that's exciting south of Claire. But if you're willing to drive a bit farther, go to Mackinac Island, Paradise, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Sault Ste. Marie.... All beautiful destinations. I took my fiancee' to Mackinac Island for a romantic weekend. He's from Mississippi and has never seen the likes of a place like that. We then drove up to Whitefish Bay and I showed him all my favorite places in the U.P.  If you still want to stay close to home, may I suggest going through the Windsor tunnel to Canada for an afternoon. My parents would take us through the tunnel, then We would spend some time driving through Canada, then come back home via the blue water bridge back into Michigan. The only other place I can think of is Frankenmuth. I don't remember but I think its less than2 hours  from Detroit, if I recall..its about 2 1/2 hours from Lansing.
