i think if she is your friend already then you don't have to make more effort - just be good with her. Try to share her secrets and problems, and try to give her good advice about her problem. Try to understand her like a girl. I think if you do so may be she will become a really close friend of yours. If she doesn't, don't mind - she will always remember you for your advice or particular quality. Don't think that if she is not your close friend then she doesn't like you - maybe she even likes you from the inside as her best friend.
