    My Dog Is Constantly Biting At The Base Of Her Tail And Around Her Anal Area. What Could Be Wrong?

    This is usually a sign of one of two things.
    Either she has impacted anal glands, and they need manual squeezing out - a dog groomer or veterinary nurse can do this.
    Or - she has fleas and this is the area that she cannot actually scratch, so she is nibbling instead.
    The first is the most likely.

    If we cannot find a cause and the vet thinks it is something obsessive - could we try using that nail biter bitter stuff so that the dog won't like the taste? Would it be safe?

      Or perhaps a third malady...worms. Confirm at a Vet or get and over-the-counter de-worm...not to be confused with Dean Wormer.
