How Can I Choose The Right Amplifier?

I'm trying to set up two loudspeakers on a factory floor, the speakers are 119dB, 15W, but I need an amplifier. The speakers will only be used for alarms and voise call outs from a computer, so sound quality is not important. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you need a Public Address System. They are available from radio shack.

Hi jnawrocki. Thanks for your help. I didn't explain very well earlier; I've basically been given the task of setting up a system in a factory which sounds alarms which are set on a computer. But this is not in my field at all. The link below shows the speakers and amp I've been looking at, do you think these will do the job together? Do you know any obvious better alternatives? There are so many options to choose from!

Yes it looks like it will work. These are 8ohm speakers so take care that you hook them up according to the drawing in the manual as the amp can handle other independences. Also the AUX inputs appear to be .25 inch phono jacks. You will need a cable to convert the PC mini-stereo output to the .25 inch phono input on the amp. This might be available where you buy the amp or you can make one with parts available at any electronics store. Nice thing about this amp is that it will accept inputs from a telephone switchboard so that it can be used for paging.

Hope it goes well for you; good luck..
