Can Spinal Stenosis Cause Constipation?

I Have Been Diagnosed With Spinal Stenosis. Can Spinal Stenosis Cause Constipation?

Answer Question

It's not a symptom of spinal stenosis.  Symptoms are generally back and leg pain, weakness, pins and needles, coldness and numbness in the limbs.  Constipation or straining to evacuate may aggravate the pain, but the stenosis doesn't cause it.

No, spinal stenosis does not cause constipation, however if you are taking pain medication, that may be the cause.  Stress can cause it as well.
